Construction Chat organised Greenwich University’s first Construction Summer School for Year 10 pupils from the Royal Greenwich University Technology College (UTC).

More than 60 pupils keen to pursue careers in construction and engineering have spent three days at the University of Greenwich designing a new education centre for the World Heritage Site. After being presented with a full brief for the exercise, the pupils took part in lectures, presentations and group mentoring sessions, honing the skills they needed to design and project manage such a building.

They were asked to address financial, design, construction and environmental issues before presenting their plans to a panel of the university’s senior lecturers.
